Typically when we do these “Twitter reacts...” collections, it is for something that causes a debate or mixed reaction.
Like when Frank Vogel was fired, or when Elfrid Payton returned to Orlando to play the Magic, or when Steve Clifford was hired, or when Aaron Gordon was re-signed, or when the Magic got the sixth pick in the NBA Draft, or Mo Bamba was drafted.
This time around, it’s all positive (though there are a few bitter Nets, Jazz and Sixers fans).
Nikola Vucevic was named an NBA All-Star for the first time in his eight-year career, giving Orlando its first All-Star since Dwight Howard (the very guy Vooch was acquired for).
It’s a well-deserved honor for a player who, despite seven difficult years in Orlando, has been a hard worker, model teammate and class act.
To honor Vucevic, we have gathered some of the best congratulatory tweets we came across on Twitter (and we also threw in a few not so congratulatory tweets just to give a sampling of what’s out there).
Thank you to the coaches for selecting me as an All-Star! It is a huge honor for me! I will proudly represent the Orlando Magic and the city of Orlando at the #NBAAllStar!— Nikola Vucevic (@NikolaVucevic) February 1, 2019

On a personal note, I am so happy for Nikola Vucevic. We criticize a lot and there are a lot of factors that go into covering a team. But Vuc is one of the best people and I am just personally happy for him. Se deserved.— Philip Rossman-Reich (@philiprr_OMD) February 1, 2019

So happy for Nikola Vucevic making the All-Star team. Well deserved for a great guy.— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) February 1, 2019
Says a lot that NBA coaches voted Vucevic as an All-Star despite Orlando Magic losing. They're the ones who gameplan for him. Also players in media who picked him: Shaq, Paul Pierce, Kenny Smith, Grant Hill, Rip Hamilton, Brendan Haywood, Jalen Rose, Kendall Gill, Caron Butler https://t.co/ziZflMyLHL— NBAMagician (@NBAMagician) February 1, 2019
