The Orlando Magic on Friday announced a new partnership with Sugar Skull Rum, culminating in the opening of the Sugar Skull Rum Landing at Amway Center. The partnership is the first NBA one for the rum company, which counts rapper and former basketball player Master P among its founding partners.
Master P joined Magic CEO Alex Martins in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion. The Sugar Skull Rum Landing is an outdoor space located on the terrace level of Amway Center, overlooking Church Street. The Landing serves a variety of Sugar Skull Rum drinks, including the Master P Signature Cocktail (see sidebar), which is an Amway Center exclusive. The space is designed with Magic colors and encourages fans to “Celebrate Life.”
Orlando’s disheartening loss to the Chicago Bulls on Friday notwithstanding, the hometown team is nonetheless off to a pleasantly surprising 6-3 start. That’s another thing worth celebrating.
