Watch: Dewayne Dedmon throws down on Suns

The Magic rookie put in this emphatic slam Wednesday.

The Orlando Magic didn't give their fans staying up late on the East Coast many reasons to cheer Wednesday in their 109-93 loss to the Phoenix Suns, but this jam from rookie center Dewayne Dedmon served as one of them. The USC product made the most of his second stretch of extended playing time since joining the team in February, punctuating that run with this slam.

On this play, Victor Oladipo finds Dedmon on a cut to the rim for a one-handed jam. Oladipo didn't play a great game Wednesday--he missed two-thirds of his shots and committed six turnovers against nine assists--but he reads the defense expertly here, drawing Channing Frye off of Dedmon by shedding Eric Bledsoe, his man, with a ball fake. He then has the presence of mind to find the open Dedmon under the rim for two.

Dedmon played nine minutes Wednesday, tallying six points on 2-of-3 shooting. In five appearances with the Magic, he's averaged 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds on 77.8 percent shooting.
