Kyle O'Quinn got himself ejected from the Orlando Magic's game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday after flagrantly fouling Blake Griffin across the face.
With Orlando trailing by three points, Griffin drove the lane past Tobias Harris' hard close-out. O'Quinn rotated off DeAndre Jordan to contest Griffin's shot attempt right at the rim, and hacked the four-time All-Star across the face. After consulting the replay review monitor and with the NBA's replay center, the officiating crew of Leroy Richardson, Marc Davis, and Scott Twardoski issued O'Quinn a flagrant-2 foul and ejected him from the game.
O'Quinn started Wednesday's game in place of Nik Vučević, Orlando's All-Star-caliber center, as Vučević sat due to back spasms.
O'Quinn tallied six points, one rebound, and a steal in seven minutes before his ejection. The Clippers closed the period on a 19-9 run to take a 57-44 lead into intermission. Dewayne Dedmon and Channing Frye figure to take the center minutes O'Quinn and Vučević leave behind.
