Arron Afflalo had a poor shooting night Wednesday in the Orlando Magic's 98-90 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, going just 5-of-16 from the floor for 11 points, but he hit arguably the biggest shot of the game at the 1:47 mark of the fourth quarter: the veteran swingman drilled a turnaround jumper over terrific defense by Jared Dudley, giving the Magic the lead for good.
In the play, embedded in the video above, Afflalo runs off two downscreens from Nik Vučević and Andrew Nicholson and then sets up on the right block. Dudley fights through the screens to battle Afflalo in the post, but the veteran swingman nontheless rattles in the fadeaway after turning over his own left shoulder.
"Obviously, I had a tough night shooting the ball," Afflalo said at his locker following the victory.
Speaking of the go-ahead basket in particular, Afflalo said, "I am glad I made the shot down the stretch. I'm at an age now where missing shots doesn't bother me too much, so I'm just playing the game."
Vučević would score the next eight points for Orlando, including a crucial jumper off a Jameer Nelson feed, to seal the win. The third-year center finished with 30 points and 21 rebounds on the night.
