The Orlando Magic have only played four games, but Victor Oladipo submitted Sunday the sort of highlight which will appear on every Magic reel once the season ends.
With 10:20 to play and the Magic leading by 19, Oladipo stripped Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams far from the basket, recovered the loose ball, and went the length of the court for a spectacular 360-degree slam dunk. The play brought Orlando's bench and the Amway Center crowd to its feet and prompted Nets coach Jason Kidd to call for time.
"Just a very aggressive play," Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said after the game, "and I wish I could do it." He said he couldn't even have made a similar play in his college days as a Kansas Jayhawk.
"It was just totally instinct really," Oladipo said of the play, according to John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com. "I just got it and did it. I don’t know what I was thinking."
Oladipo scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half to help Orlando run away with the game, which it led by just three points at intermission.
