Watch: Victor Oladipo beats Tony Allen on backdoor cut

It's preseason for All-NBA defenders too.

Victor Oladipo had his strongest game as a member of the Orlando Magic in Friday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Indiana product compiled 22 points and three assists against one of the NBA's final team defenses, and in particular against Tony Allen, an NBA All-Defense First Team selection in each of the last two seasons.

In the play embedded above, Oladipo beats Allen on a simple backdoor cut from the weak side. Second-year big man Kyle O`Quinn, operating from the top of the key, finds Oladipo under the baset for the easy two-handed flush as Allen flails.

The play not only demonstrates Oladipo's potential as an off-ball cutter--in Orlando, he's played primarily with the ball in his hands--but also O'Quinn's strong instincts as a passer. O'Quinn's other assist in the game also went to a backdoor-cutting wing, specifically Maurice Harkless.

In five preseason appearances, Oladipo is averaging 14.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists on 45.3 percent shooting from the field.
