Orlando Magic rookie forward Maurice Harkless had a game to forget on Wednesday against the New Orleans Hornets, missing four of his five shots and scoring just two points as Orlando fell, 97-94, for its third straight defeat. But he did make one play to remember: a fast-break dunk over a retreating Robin Lopez in the waning moments of the first half.
As shown in the video above, Harkless snared a missed shot by Lopez and passed to Magic point guard Jameer Nelson, who led the break as J.J. Redick sprinted to the right corner and Gustavo Ayón filled the left driving lane. After dishing to Nelson, Harkless headed up the middle of the floor. Nelson hit the streaking St. John's product with a pocket pass right in stride, and Harkless wasted to time elevating and throwing down a one-handed dunk as Lopez sailed past.
It's fitting that Lopez's only miss led to Harkess' only make. For one play on Wednesday, the players' fortunes reversed. Lopez finished with 29 points, one shy of his career high, on 9-of-10 shooting.
