The Orlando Magic got off to a bit of a rough start against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, yielding 27 points on 57.9 percent shooting in the first quarter on their home floor. But Magic guard J.J. Redick helped turn the tide late in the period by dishing three assists and scoring two points, erasing what had been a 10-point Detroit lead.
The above video shows Redick's lone basket of the first quarter, which he drilled with four-tenths of a second to play in the period. On a side out-of-bounds, Redick took a long pass from Gustavo Ayón. He took it up the right side of the floor and used a brilliant screen by rookie forward Andrew Nicholson to divest himself of Pistons defender Rodney Stuckey. With Stuckey out of the way, Redick launched the long two-pointer and sank it to bring Orlando to within six points at the end of the period.
