Here's a very nice breakdown of Kristaps Porzingis and why teams should be very weary of him as a player.
"Houston went positionless with length and athleticism at every spot". That's why players like Harris and Aaron Gordon make sense for us and why we shouldn't marry to Vuc. And that's why Rob probably tried the Oladipo PG experiment. If somehow Oladipo turned into a mediocre PG (just good enough not to hurt the team)... just imagine a lineup where Dipo is your smallest guy, scary.
"We’re not sticking ourselves to any sort of timeline. We’ve had an incredible amount of interest in the job."
Via Zach Lowe of GrantlandHere's a pre-draft interview with Myles Turner, a 6'11" freshman out of the University of Texas with a skill-set that is certainly appealing to all NBA teams. With his size, being able to have perimeter skills as well as be able to block shots at a high level is certainly a covetable package. The biggest knock on Turner is his running motion, which also negatively affects his mobility and potential longevity. With this being said, his running motion does seem to be more fluid and natural, and he seems more mobile. He's someone to keep an eye on, especially if Orlando lands outside of the top-3.
The article states that the Pelicans job is more attractive than Orlando's. While this is true, in that he would get to coach The Brow, there are also rumors that Joe Dumars was involved in getting Monty Williams fired, and that he may be their next GM. If I were Thibodeau, that would have me hanging up the phone in a hurry.
A couple 2nd rounders is where we're beginning this discussion. Bet that's not where it ends...
Aaron Gordon has been putting in work on becoming a better perimeter shooter.
