It wasn’t a matter of if Kevin Durant would select Nikola Vucevic, it was a matter of when...
You know Kevin Durant is taking Nikola Vucevic early in the draft https://t.co/raKL87GyCp— Orlando Pinstriped Post (@OPPMagicBlog) March 5, 2021
The “when” was determined on Thursday night, with Durant selecting Vucevic with his sixth pick in the reserve portion of the All-Star game draft.
Durant won’t be playing in the game due to injury, so he’ll have a great opportunity to watch Vucevic, a player he has publicly stated his admiration for.
“Kendrick Perkins can’t say his name right but I got it right,” Durant said after making the selection on Thursday.
Vucevic also was the sixth pick in the 2019 All-Star draft when he was selected by Team Giannis.
This time around Vucevic was drafted ahead of Domantas Sabonis, Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert.
On Sunday, Vooch will team up with Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, James Harden, Devin Booker, Zion Williamson, Zach LaVine, Julius Randle and Donovan Mitchell.
ICYMI, here is the second round of the All-Star draft...
Sure will be nice to see Vucevic surround by some shooters.
