Only Serious Reset Plan

There has been a ton of talk about how to reset the franchise and different tanking models. I myself would opt for a soft reset where we play all the young guys, stink up the joint and get a high draft pick. Only trading maybe Fournier if you get a decent pick out of it or a young guy to take a swing on.

However, that's not this post. This post is about going ALL IN on a reset and future and admitting that you will suck hard to get a great pick and commit to trading anyone that brings young high side talent or another decent pick for the future. And to accomplish that you must sadly trade your best player and probably more. For us that's Vooch!

The interesting thing about trades is usually if you give the other team a great player their pick they just traded to you is a lower pick then it would be. That's why trading to GSW is so perfect. They are so close they might be willing to go ALL IN and their pick for this year is from Minnesota.

GSW gets: Vucevic, Ross, Bamba, Clark and a our 2024 first round pick (unprotected as long as Minnesota's pick conveys this year.)

MAGIC get: Klay, Oubre, Wiseman and the first round pick from Minnesota (protected 1-3)

Some people bash this move because they don't think GSW will bail on Klay....This is buisiness he hasn't played in two years and won't probably look great first year back. They need to win now. Steph and Draymonds window is Now! Vooch and Ross bring enough firepower that they are in the finals discussion. Maybe they can get Bamba to have a championship mentality.

The magic get a another high pick and Wiseman is a young Big that Cliff can mold. Oubre is cap relief and won't be staying.

Next up is trade AG. Part of me wants to trade him to minnesota to further insure we get their pick (and I would explore that) but I think the smart pick is to sell to ATL that wants to be relevant now.

ATL Get's AG and a future 2nd round pick and the 2022 second rounder from indiana.

MAGIC Get Snell, Hunter and their 2021 first round pick.

That means we have 43 million coming off the books at season end. If those vets wanted buy outs to go to non-tanking teams let them.
