Quotes from Coach

“I think they’re just different. Their timelines remain to be seen a little bit. For Jalen, understanding and slowing things down - physically. Because mentally, he sees a lot of things, but he’s receiving a lot more pressure (than Franz). He’s going hard, guys are playing physical towards him. So I think slowing things down (physically) is part of the major curve. And then for Franz - playing off the ball - he’s allowed to analyze the game a bit differently. See the way things are being played in space, and it’s paying off right now.” ~ Coach Mosley when asked about different learning curves for rookies Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner.

“I think they’ve done a really good job complimenting each other. I think their versatility, both being able to space the floor, also with their ability to make decisions. I think they’ve also done a ton of ‘big to big’ passing, they’re looking for each other. I think them being part of that first unit as well (and that net rating), that proves they’ve done a pretty good job so far.” ~ Coach Mosley when asked to assess how playing Wendell Carter Jr. and Mo Bamba together has gone so far this season.

“I’m going to bring it back to our assistant coaches and our veterans. They’ve done a a great job getting them (the young guys) prepared for what they’re going to see. Our veterans (JI, Markelle, Robin Lopez, E’Twaun, Gary Harris), those guys are talking to our guys every night about what they see, how they need to come out. The communication within this group has been just great, so that’s why these young guys have been able to beat the curve a little bit.” ~ Coach Mosley on how his young roster is handling themselves thus far.
