INJURY UPDATE:@OrlandoMagic guard @MarkelleF suffered a left knee injury during the first quarter tonight vs. Cleveland.— Orlando Magic PR (@Magic_PR) January 7, 2021
Fultz will not return tonight and he will undergo further evaluation.#MagicTogether
Just four minutes into the game, Fultz drove the lane, planted and immediately collapsed to the floor in significant pain.
Fultz was helped off the court and taken to the locker room in a wheelchair.
The hope is that Fultz’s injury is not as serious as it seemed, but it sure did not look good. An extended absence would be unfortunate for Fultz, who last year had his first healthy season, and a crushing blow to a Magic team that would then be without arguably its top two core players in Fultz and Jonathan Isaac.
More to come on this story. Prayers up for Markelle.
