The Orlando Magic and their fans waited a long time for a playoff spot. And once they got it, seven years worth of emotions came flooding out on Twitter.
The number of tweets were overwhelming, and they did not disappoint. Players, media types, and fans all chimed in to celebrate the end of the postseason drought in Orlando.
There’s not much more that can be said here that isn’t said below. As always, the tweets speak for themselves.
Congratulations to the Orlando Magic and to Magic Twitter!

"It's an amazing feeling. Nobody knows what I've been through in these last six years here, just through all the losing, the struggling, the doubting. It's been very difficult for me at times. And, man, it paid off in a great way, man." -Nikola Vucevic

Thrilled that @OrlandoMagic has clinched a spot in the playoffs. The team has made great strides this year and our city will be cheering them on in the postseason.
— Mayor Buddy Dyer (@orlandomayor) April 8, 2019
I am so damn excited man.
— The Lando (@TheLando__) April 8, 2019
So damn proud of this team. What a turnaround, after being 11 games under .500 in January.
What a year by Nikola Vucevic and Terrence Ross.
Maaannn so much I can say right now. These past 7 years have been so long.
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
That was a deeply emotional Magic postgame locker room tonight. When the doors swung open, a pool of standing water was on the dark rug, evidence of the water dousing of Steve Clifford and others. Even GM John Hammond was remarking how "special" the moment was as he walked out.

.@OrlandoMagic coach Steve Clifford, who's likely vaulted himself into consideration for NBA Coach of the Year award w/ ORL winning 21 of 30 to get to POs:"Phenomenal locker room scene. The guys were ecstatic, deserving & it’s fun to see. I feel like we’ve done it the right way."

Even sweeter for Steve Clifford to clinch Orlando’s return to the playoffs in Boston tonight. He’s a Maine kid who once worked down the street at BU for Brett Brown’s dad, Bob. Few league coaches maximized their roster the way Clifford did this season.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) April 8, 2019
One of the best free agent additions did not come in a player signing or trade last off-season but with a coach. Great job by Steve Clifford and his staff getting the Magic to the postseason for the first time since 2011-12.
— Bobby Marks (@BobbyMarks42) April 8, 2019
Magic were a 25-win mess last year, and will finish this season with at least 40 wins and a playoff berth. It took Steve Clifford years to be recognized as a head coaching candidate. Now he deserves recognition as one of the best.
— Chris Mannix (@SIChrisMannix) April 8, 2019
The No. 2 team in Florida was NOT the forecast for D-Wade's final season. Orlando's second-half surge and Miami's fade … two things I don't remember many (any?) predicting
— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) April 7, 2019
I’m ok! Playoffs baby what a year!! We’ve come such a long way
