Michael Carter-Williams signs second 10-day contract with Magic

The veteran point guard will be sticking around

NBA: Atlanta Hawks at Orlando Magic Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Michael Carter-Williams has signed a well-deserved second 10-day contract with the Orlando Magic.

The veteran point guard’s stats since making his debut with the Magic on March 17 don’t exactly jump off the page, but MCW has certainly made his impact felt.

Averaging 3.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 16.3 minutes per game with Orlando, Carter-Williams has provided a spark defensively, shown the ability to grab critical rebounds when needed, and made some crowd-pleasing hustle plays while helping the Magic go 3-0 in his time here...

If the Magic elect to keep Carter-Williams on the roster after the second 10-day contract expires in early April, they will have to sign him for the remainder of the season.

Given MCW’s play and the Magic’s point guard depth, it seems inevitable that Carter-Williams will be sticking around for the remainder of the Magic’s playoff push, and if they can get there, the postseason.
