This might be the best “Twitter reacts...” compilation in the history of Orlando Pinstriped Post.
And we do this pretty regularly: like when Frank Vogel was fired, or when Elfrid Payton returned to Orlando to play the Magic, or when Steve Clifford was hired, or when Aaron Gordon was re-signed, or when the Magic got the sixth pick in the NBA Draft, or Mo Bamba was drafted or just last week when Nikola Vucevic was named an All-Star.
I say this one is best because, when the Magic acquired Markelle Fultz from the 76ers, Twitter exploded nationally.
And the tweets were coming from all angles: excited tweets from Magic fans happy to have Fultz, comical tweets from 76ers fans who seemed happy to get rid of him, mean tweets from random fans and media types calling Fultz the biggest bust in NBA history, hopeful tweets from well-wishers saying Fultz will be one of the best comeback stories in NBA history, and so on.
So, there were plenty of tweets to choose from. Here are the best of the best that I came across....
Orlando is trading for Markelle Fultz, league source tells ESPN.
— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) February 7, 2019
Orlando Magic president Jeff Weltman and GM John Hammond consider the Fultz acquisition as a low-risk, high-reward proposition. Magic will proceed with his arrival as long-term project and like chances w/ Steve Clifford and his staff getting to work with the former No. 1 pick.

Very stoked for Fultz. The Magic gave up peanuts for a project with immense talent.
— Orlando Pinstriped Post (@OPPMagicBlog) February 7, 2019
If Fultz is going to make it in the NBA and turn his career around, he’s going to do it in an Orlando uniform.
Now that’s something our entire fan base can collectively get behind! (AG)
Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said tonight: "Markelle Fultz was the number-one pick in the draft two years ago, and it wasn't a fluke. I think the whole league had him there. So we believe that, at 20 years old, the sky's the limit for him."

Fultz desperately needed a new start. In Orlando, he won’t be the number one pick in the 2017 draft; he’ll be a guy they got at the trade deadline. There will be a lot less pressure on him there, and he can get on with his career under the excellent coaching of Steve Clifford.

Fultz will be a perfect fit on the Magic, they’re used to seeing four missed free throws in a row.
— Rob Perez (@WorldWideWob) February 7, 2019
Something to keep in mind with @OrlandoMagic trading for 6-4, 200-pound PG Markelle Fultz -- The @sixers run a motion offense with the fewest pick-and-roll plays in the NBA. Using his size & quickness, Fultz thrives in pick-and-roll plays. He'll get more of those looks in ORL.

Source: Orlando will exercise patience with Markelle Fultz's return to play. The Magic are taking the long-view with Fultz potentially being the starting guard to pair with the rest of their young core. Don't be surprised if Fultz doesn't return to play this season.

Markelle Fultz was worth an expiring contract at most, IMO. Getting more than that is a considerable win.
— Brandon Lee Gowton (@BrandonGowton) February 7, 2019
Good for him. Hope this move allows Markelle to thrive. Maybe a fresh start is all he needs. It wa such a puzzling story around him this year and who really knows the toll it took. Hopefully the organization truly invests in giving him that time to grow! https://t.co/McCSYza0s9
— Taylor Rooks (@TaylorRooks) February 7, 2019
Magic a great landing spot for Fultz. Kemba Walker credits Steve Clifford for getting his career on track. Cliff, low pressure environment—best chance Fultz has to rebuild.
— Chris Mannix (@SIChrisMannix) February 7, 2019
Among players to debut with the team that drafted them, Markelle Fultz's 33 games with the 76ers are the fewest by a No. 1 pick before changing teams in the Common Draft Era - since 1966 (h/t @EliasSports).
— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) February 7, 2019
Pervis Ellison previously held that distinction (34 games with Kings). https://t.co/UZB1S5TfEm
Reminder of just how talented Markelle Fultz was coming out of Washington. https://t.co/EIb48Asltc So smooth and instinctual as a shot creator. Great buy low move. pic.twitter.com/Ec8zNiW78b
— Mike Schmitz (@Mike_Schmitz) February 7, 2019
The last time the Magic had a point guard as innately talented or as athletic as Fultz was Steve Francis. This is a really big deal for the franchise. THIS is the type of move we need to be committed to
— Cigamodnalro (@cigamodnalro) February 7, 2019
Sixers essentially traded Fultz for the opportunity to not have to talk extensively about it at the next press conference
— David Murphy (@ByDavidMurphy) February 7, 2019
My favorite part about the Markelle Fultz trade will happen when he comes back to play the Sixers and he misses 2 free throws in the second half to get me a free Wendy’s frosty
— Ben Gialloreto (@BenGialloreto) February 7, 2019
I think it's good for Fultz to get out from under the weight of the expectations he had as the #1 overall pick. Good kid, works hard, ton of talent. I hope he puts it together and has success doing what he loves to do.
— Derek Bodner (@DerekBodnerNBA) February 7, 2019
Assuming the reported parameters of a deal are accurate, on paper, that’s a great deal for the Magic. If Fultz can get back on track, the Magic have their point guard for the future. If not, the price wasn’t excruciating for them. A big win for them keeping Terrence Ross.

Getting to Orlando is about the best possible outcome for Fultz. Gets him out of a high-pressure environment into a zero-pressure environment with a coach who can instill confidence in him and a team that can take the time to develop him. https://t.co/01Q76Nw0Pj
