For a team like the Orlando, taking a chance on Markelle Fultz is worth the risk.
It’s not that long ago, after all, that Fultz was regarded as the consensus top pick in the NBA Draft. Perhaps a change of scenery, and some patience on the Magic’s part, will help the 20-year-old point guard find his confidence and regain his old form (quite literally in regard to his shooting form).
And the Magic, mired in a nearly seven-year playoff drought, have little to lose outside of their financial commitment to Fultz. So, the point guard is something of a lottery ticket for Orlando.
Scott Anez, who has covered the Magic for 30 years, and Nick Gryniewicz, the voice of the Lakeland Magic, discuss everything from Fultz’s upside, to Fultz’s yips, to when we might actually see Fultz on the court for his Magic debut, and many other Fultz-related subjects in the very first episode of their new podcast “Heart & Hustle” for the Orlando Pinstriped Post Podcast Network.
