Game 42: Magic vs. Celtics GameThread

The Magic are home (finally) and looking to get back heading in the right direction

NBA: Orlando Magic at Boston Celtics Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

After an 11-day, six game road trip (1-5), the Orlando Magic are finally able to ring in 2019 on their home floor tonight against the Boston Celtics.

The Magic beat the Celtics 93-90 in Boston back in late October, which has turned out to be one of the team’s signature wins through the first half of this season.

Orlando will be looking to put their recent road-trip behind them, a trip that saw the Magic blow double-digit leads in three of the six games.

The Celtics dropped a contest to the Miami Heat (115-99) in their last game, but had won their previous four games prior to Thursday night. Boston is currently fifth in the Eastern Conference standings, five and a half games back from the conference leading Toronto Raptors.

Mohamed Bamba will miss his second consecutive game to rest his sore left foot. Bamba is not expected to play tomorrow against the Houston Rockets either. Bamba had an MRI done on the foot Thursday which showed no structural damage.
