I'm a writer over at Sactown Royalty, and the Orlando Magic have become an area of interest for our fans for two reasons: the 5th pick and Aaron Gordon.
Assuming no one jumps in the lottery, y'all will be selecting 5th and the Kings will be selecting 7th. Many draft pundits project Trae Young as a sensible target for Orlando, and he's likely to be available at #7 with Chicago already having Kris Dunn on the roster. What's a realistic trade that would interest you in moving back to seventh?
For reference, in the past two drafts the Blazers gave up #15 and #20 to move up five spots to #10 and the Suns gave up #13, #28, and the rights to Bogdan Bogdanovic to move up five spots to #8.
To be quite honest, De'Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, and Bogdan would be off of the trading block to move up just 2 spots, as I'm sure you can understand. The Kings still have quite a few young players to choose from: Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere, Justin Jackson, and Frank Mason III as well as the #37 pick, a decent amount of cap space heading into the summer.
What would be a fair trade in your minds to move back two spots?
Secondly, there is the matter of lusting over Aaron Gordon to fill our talent gap. Kings fans are pretty much 100% in on offering a full max contract to your young power forward and we will have the cap space to do so. Do you believe your front office would match that offer?
I appreciate your time and responses and always feel free to hop on over to Sactown Royalty if you have any thoughts on deals that can be made!
