Mambo Bamba No. 5
Mo Bamba is no stranger to being immortalized through song. The guy, after all, has an insanely popular song named after him.
And now Bamba’s name is linked to another song that was quite popular in its heyday with the t-shirt below, which can be purchased here.

If you remember the song “Mambo No. 5,” you’ll appreciate the twist on the opening lyric:
“Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Bamba, No. 5.”
It’s fitting as Bamba, who the Magic selected with the sixth pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, continues to introduce himself to the NBA world. He recorded his first career double-double on Sunday with 12 points and 11 rebounds in just 15 minutes during the Magic’s 117-110 win over the Spurs.
The shirt, which has been approved by the NBA Players Association, was designed by Orlando Pinstriped Post and t-shirt company Breaking T, who earlier this year partnered to bring you the popular “Victorious B.I.G.” t-shirt.
The “Bamba No. 5” phrase went viral minutes after it was revealed that Bamba had selected to wear jersey No. 5 in June.
Today we found out what number Mo Bamba will wear for the Orlando Magic.

A little bit of Nikola at the five
A little bit of Mario on the side
A little bit of Aaron on the team
A little bit of DJ Augustin
A little bit of Elfrid (now a Sun)
A little bit of Isaac, number one
A little bit of Simmons, Jonathan
A little Iwundu makes me a fan https://t.co/fs0mSH4kuN
The song “Mambo No. 5” was remade in 1999 by Lou Bega and skyrocketed towards the top of the charts. It’s kind of catchy. Part of me wishes Amway Center would play the opening music after every blocked shot by Bamba (Cc: Orlando Magic PR).
And if you don’t remember the song, here is a reminder...
