With the 25th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic selected Anzejs Pasecniks Center from Latvia.
According to the Vertical’s Shams Charania, the Magic will trade Pasecniks to the Philadelphia 76ers for a 2020 first round pick (from OKC) and a 2020 second round pick. The pick will come after OKC conveys a first round selection to the Utah Jazz. If they don’t get the first rounder, they’ll receive two future second round picks.
Much like the trade of the 35th pick, this makes sense for the Magic. They gain a future asset, while keeping a roster spot open for free agency.
Pasecniks, 7’11” averaged 7.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game last year in Spain.
The Magic have had a busy night, and will likely continue to look to make moves as the remainder of the night moves on. As they currently stand, they still hold one selection left —33rd overall- and will likely hold the selection.
