What could be more fitting for the Magic, who seem like "the Walking Wounded" at the moment, than a visit to the city that brought us "The Walking Dead"?
The Magic and the Hawks just played each other last Wednesday night in Orlando. Veteran point guard D.J. Augustin hit a three-pointer with six seconds remaining in regulation to force the game into overtime. The Magic prevailed in that contest 110-106.
But this time around, Orlando will be playing without Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon. Fournier sprained his ankle in overtime against the Hawks two games ago and didn't make the trip to Atlanta with the team. It's unclear how long Fournier will be out for.
To make matters worse, starting power forward Aaron Gordon suffered what the organization is labeling a "mild concussion" in last night's game against the Denver Nuggets. Gordon will not play Saturday night against the Hawks.
Of course, Orlando has already been playing down two players in their rotation in Terrence Ross (knee) and Jonathan Isaac (ankle).
And on top of everything else, the Magic are listing D.J. Augustin as "questionable" to play tonight with a left quadriceps contusion. Augustin is considered to be a game-time decision.
The Magic have called up Adreian Payne from their G-League affiliate in Lakeland for tonight's contest.
The Hawks, who have dropped 19 of their first 24 games to begin the season, have not played since Wednesday's meeting in Orlando. Atlanta is expected to be without Dewayne Dedmon, Mike Muscala, and rookie John Collins.
