Magic versus Jazz Game Thread

The Magic return home to face Utah after going 1-3 on their West Coast trip

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Magic return to Orlando in dire need of a victory.

After dropping the last three games of their West Coast trip, the Magic play two games at Amway Arena before heading back on the road for another tough trip. That makes Saturday's match-up against a struggling Jazz team that will be playing in the second game of a back-to-back all the more important.

The 6-10 Jazz, who are without Rudy Gobert, have lost seven of their last eight games and lost six straight on the road. Utah, among the slowest teams in the league with a pace of 98.1 possessions per game, has the sixth worst offensive efficiency in the league at 100.3 points per 100 possessions. Defensively, they are tenth in the league at 103.0 points allowed per 100 possessions, though they just surrendered 118 points on Friday in a loss to the Nets, who were without D'Angelo Russell.

The Jazz won both games against Orlando last season. The Magic will get their first look at rookie Donovan Mitchell, the 13th overall pick in the NBA Draft who enters averaging 14.9 points per game.

Orlando's backcourt is expected to be at full strength with D.J. Augustin slated to return after missing seven games with a hamstring strain.
