Episode 3: Damjan Rudez to sign with Orlando Magic

Damjan Rudez is a 30-year old, 6'10'' Forward from Croatia, entering his 3rd year in the NBA. He played for Frank Vogel in Indiana in 2014-15, and was subsequently traded to Minnesota in 2015-16.

His game can be described as a deadly 3pt shooter (NBA career 39.1% percentage), with solid passing abilities and good general basketball IQ.

In his rookie year, he led the rookies in 3pt field goal percentage.

However, he saw rare minutes in the league, averaging 4.8p, 0.7r, 0.8a in 15 minutes per game in Indy. In his second season in Minnesota, Damjan averaged 2.3p, 0.6r, 0.3 in 8 minutes per game in Minnesota. His highlights from last year can be seen here.

The interesting part is, Damjan's best two games in his first year were against the Magic, scoring 18 and 17 points in separate outbursts. Were these the games to grab Hennigan's attention?

Damjan's contract is reportedly not guaranteed, but he will get the chance to grab a roster spot in training camp. He would most likely be a backup for Aaron Gordon and Jeff Green at the Small Forward spot.
