So, we all know it's far fetched. But let's say you were KD and you somehow made it to Hennigans office to hear him brag about the moves he's made that now makes you, KD, the missing piece. What realistic moves would it take for you to sign the dotted line?
My scenario...I personally think KD will thrive in a GSW shooting system. OKC's issue is they're not a threat from deep whatsoever. The way I see it is, how insane would it have been if our 09' Magic, had KD instead of Rashard Lewis. Ummm, Central Florida would've had a parade. So my 2016-17 rendition would look like this...
Our PG move: move Dipo to PG (bare with me) and slightly overpay Livingston as his backup.
Our SG move: Bradley Beal gets a nice payday slightly below max. Mario further grows along side of him.
Our SF move: (insert KD here) and low and behold, AG will be our 6th man.
Our PF move: It gets interesting here...we trade non shooting EP and 2nd rounder to CHI for Mirotic and his 40% shooting from deep. More importantly we sign Pau Gasol (will make KD better with his passing and experience playing alongside a star).
Our C move: No move. We keep Vuc and Dedmon!
Final roster
PG Dipo $6mil/Livingston $10mil/ Watson $5mil
SG Beal $16mil/Mario $4mil
SF KD $24mil/ AG $4mil
PF Gasol $10mil/ Mirotic $5.5mil
C Vuc $13mil/ Dedmon $5mil
Final Note: I spent about $103mi here with rough numbers. SO ITS POSSIBLE!!!! Dipo at the PG would have to be my biggest worry but when the rest of the lineup are good passers it can work. We still keep our pick for the best available player. This roster is shooter heavy and versatile enough for any team out there.
