You can somewhat blame Tyga for this he posted in the comments an idea to trade for Paul George and now I can't stop thinking about it. We keep dreaming of the perfect draft pick but the reality is most of us are done losing and with kids not staying in college so few can make an impact the first year. If you could parlay that pick and pieces into a star now you have to consider it.
I'm hoping for some ping pong luck and a very high pick. If that happens this is what I propose:
Now in Tygas version we land Durant too which would be great but I still think he gives it one last year in Oklahoma
I would trade Vuc,Ersan, and sign and trade Fournier for Paul George for this years first and the lakers pick plus next years second round pick.
Next up go out and sign whiteside to what it takes to get it done hopefully not max money and I would also pick up Roy Hibbert on the vet minimum he would love to be back with Paul after the fiasco in LA
Jennings is gone. And I would try and get smith on a smart 3 year deal last year being a team option. Unless say a Pau Gasol Would come on a discount for a deep run in the playoffs! Also I would wait to see what Dedmon is offered and if it's not too much match it.
i would attempt to sign and trade Delly for Napier barring that I would cut Napier and outright sign Delly
Resign Nicholson to a 4 year deal for maybe 12 mil
Last I would do the five year extension on Oladipo it might seem a bit Much now but in the end will look super cheap
That makes the roster
PG - Payton / CJ (played with PG13) / Dellavadova
SG - Oladipo/ Mario / draft pick
SF - PG13 / Gordon/ Marble
PF - Gordon / Nicholson / Smith (Pau)
C - Whiteside/ Hibbert / Dedmon
It's not often a team trades a star but it does happen. This would also leave us some flexibility for 2017 FA. If Durant did end up coming over you move PG13 to SG and the trade the valuable Dipo on a cheap long term contract to shore up either PG if it's not working out or your bench.
