The Magic will be moving on from their floor stretching big man, possibly as early as Wednesday.

After trading Tobias Harris to the Detroit Pistons this afternoon, the Orlando Magic are nearing an agreement to move power forward Channing Frye to the Los Angeles Clippers. According to The Verticals Adrian Wojnarowski, the Magic could be acquiring Lance Stephenson, C.J. Wilcox and a second round pick for Frye. However, the deal will be put on the back burner, as the Clippers look for another potential suitor for Stephenson.

Wojnarowski mentioned that, if a deal were to go through on Wednesday, the Magic would waive Stephenson almost immediately. Waiving the problematic swingman would open up even more cap space for the Magic for the upcoming offseason.

Moving on from Frye was inevitable with his consistent struggles since the team signed him prior to last season. As early as two weeks ago, rumors were swirling the Magic could be looking to move on from Frye, who has been reduced to a reserve role of late.

Taking on Wilcox, a young shooting guard, would give the Magic some more depth on the wing after moving on from Harris earlier Tuesday afternoon.

With the team clearly looking to open up some cap space for the summer, it's likely they'll be making a big push for an impact player. With the potential of having max cap space for two players, the Magic could be big players in a generally shallow free agent pool.
