Among Orlando Magic players, Elfrid Payton and Mario Hezonja won't be alone when they take part in NBA All-Star festivities in February.
Friday afternoon the NBA D-League named Orlando guard Keith Appling to its Eastern Conference All-Star squad. Appling, who inked a second 10-day contract with the Magic earlier in the day, plays for their D-League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks.
In 17 appearaces for Erie, Appling has averaged 16.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 2.1 steals on 49.5 percent shooting from the floor.
Appling attended training camp with the Magic and has made two appearances for them in the 2015/16 season. In his senior season at Michigan State, the 6-foot-1 point guard posted per-game averages of 11.2 points, three boards, and 4.5 assists. That assist mark ranked third among Big 10 players.
The NBA D-League All-Star game tips off at 2 PM Eastern on Saturday, February 13th.
