With two days to go until the beginning of training camp, the Orlando Magic on Thursday announced the signings of the free agents Keith Appling, Nnanna Egwu, Jordan Sibert, and Greg Stiemsma.
At 15 points per game, Appling led the Magic's White team in scoring during the Orlando Pro Summer League. He went undrafted in 2014 out of Michigan State, for which he averged 10.6 points, three rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game. He spent the 2014/15 season in the NBA D-League with the Los Angeles D-Fenders and the Erie BayHawks.
Egwu and Sibert also hooped for Orlando in the Summer League after doing undrafted in 2015, though Egwu suited up for Magic White while Sibert held it down for Magic blue. A 6-foot-11 center, Egwu averaged 6.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks collegiately at Illinois. Sibert, a former Dayton Flyer, shot 38.4 percent on three-pointers in his college career, averaging 14.1 points per game.
Stiemsma turns 30 on Saturday and stands as the lone veteran invitee to Orlando's camp. In 203 games at the NBA level, Stiemsma owns averages of 3.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 15 minutes.
Thursday's signings bring the Magic's camp roster to 19 players. Training camp gets underway Saturday on the Amway Center practice floor.
