Aaron Gordon, Elfrid Payton, and Mario Hezonja out the remainder of Summer League

The Magic's main trio of players will sit out the remainder of the week long event.

The Orlando Magic's Blue team will be without it's three main cogs for the rest of the week. As Orlando Sentinel scribe Josh Robbins reported, the team will sit the trio of Aaron Gordon, Mario Hezonja and Elfrid Payton for the remainder of the week.

The move should come as no surprise, as the trio has nothing left to prove in the meaningless Summer League. The three will be key pieces for the Magic for the future, and risking any type of injury would make no sense for the Magic.

Add in the fact that they've all shown what they needed to during the week, and move makes even more sense.

Gordon, 19, has been the teams, and events, best player for the week, averaging 21.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 blocks per game. He's shown off an improved jumper and a supreme confidence while on the floor.

Hezonja, 20, was slightly underwhelming in his two games played, finishing the week with averages of 13 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. The Croatian national just finished his season in Spain with Barcelona a mere two weeks ago, so playing him more made no sense, especially considering his plans to play for Croatia in the European Championship next month.

Payton, 21, had the least to prove amongst the group. Finishing fourth in Rookie of the Year voting last year, along with his strong performances night-in and night-out, Payton didn't have a lot that he needed to showcase during the week.
