The NBA Draft is nearly upon us, so what better time to gauge the Orlando Pinstriped Post community's ranking of favorite prospects? That's right: the OPP community Draft board has returned.
Orlando Magic fans determined via Saturday's vote that Kentucky big man Karl-Anthony Towns should lead their team's Draft board.
It's not difficult to understand why: in just 21.1 minutes per game, Towns stuffed the stat sheet with 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 2.3 blocked shots. At age 19, he helped lead Kentucky to the Final Four, where it fell to Wisconsin.
Towns earned an impressive 42 percent of the vote among OPPers. His teammate Willie Cauley-Stein, at 22 percent, stunned with a second-place finish, ahead of more highly touted prospects like Jahlil Okafor and Emmanuel Mudiay, among others. In light of that puzzling result, please allow me to restate the point of this exercise.
In the poll attached to this post, please vote for the NBA Draft prospect who should rank second the Magic's Draft board, even though Orlando won't pick until fifth overall. Our goal with this series of posts is to get an idea of where Magic fans' collective minds are with regard to the Draft.
Having reiterated the rules, let's vote! The poll closes at midnight Monday. We'll reveal the winner and keep the voting rolling daily as often as we can leading up to the Draft on June 25th.
