Hi all Magic supporters,
I apologise for coming on board here to talk about my team the Clippers but I've been discussing a trade proposal that I thought makes a bit of sense. I'm posting here because I'd really like to get your opinions about whether it's a good deal or not? Her we go:
The trade basically involves the Clippers sending Jamal Crawford to Orlando for Moe Harkless and Andrew Nicholson. But here's why I think it works for you. Probably being too one-sided but how's this reasoning:
1) Assuming you want to keep Tobias Harris, this move would allow you to waive Crawford as he is only guaranteed $1.5m next season. This would then give the Magic about $4m in cap room to help retain Harris.
2) Nicholson and Harkless are both RFA next off-season. You would then have to decide if you want to lose them in FA or try and keep them?
3)The rumour mill suggests that the Magic are after a starting SF in the draft. Either way that puts Harkless in the "unwanted" bin (assuming you want to keep Harris?).
4) Final option is to keep Crawford around for his $5.5m and then look to trade him later in the season for other assets.
I'd like to hear your thoughts. Give me some suggestions on what it would take to make this happen.
Best of Luck to you all. Thanks for letting me put this out there.
