The NBA Draft is nearly upon us, so what better time to gauge the Orlando Pinstriped Post community's ranking of favorite prospects? That's right: the OPP community Draft board has returned.
Orlando Magic fans voted Tuesday for Wisconsin big man Frank Kaminsky to place 11th on the board.
In contrast to every prospect on the board so far, Kaminsky has a wealth of experience: he played four seasons at Wisconsin, capping his career by earning several year-end honors, including AP Player of the Year and the Wooden Award.
As a senior, Kaminsky averaged 18.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.5 blocks while shooting 54.7 percent from the floor, including 41.6 percent on 2.6 triples per game. Given his age--he'll turn 23 late in his rookie season--Kaminsky doesn't have the upside of many other top prospects. However, he also figures to be more NBA-ready.
Kaminsky might be a reach for Orlando with the fifth overall pick, especially if Willie Cauley-Stein is still available. Were the team more ready to compete, he might make more sense there.
In the poll attached to this post, please vote for the NBA Draft prospect who should rank 12th on the Magic's Draft board.
Having reiterated the rules, let's vote! The poll closes at midnight Thursday. We'll reveal the winner and keep the voting rolling daily as often as we can leading up to the Draft on June 25th.
