NBA Draft Lottery 2015 time, odds, TV schedule, and more

The Magic head into the draft lottery with the fifth-best odds.

The NBA Draft Lottery, scheduled for Tuesday, May 19th, at 8:30 PM Eastern/5:30 Pacific, will determine the order in which the 14 teams who did not make the postseason will select in June's NBA Draft. The event will be shown on ESPN prior to the tip of of the Western Conference Finals.

The Orlando Magic finished the 2014/15 season with a 25-57 record, the fifth worst in the NBA. As a result of their struggles, the Magic will come into the lottery with the fifth best odds -- more specifically an 8.9 percent chance -- of being awarded the first overall pick. With the fifth best lottery odds, the Magic are guaranteed a pick no lower than eighth.

The team will be represented during the lottery by team CEO, Alex Martins. Senior Vice President Pat Williams, who "won" the team the top overall pick three times prior, with be in the room where they draw the pingpong balls to determine the draft order.

Since the league went to the current lottery system in 1994, the team with the fifth best odds has won the lottery four times. Those teams include the 2002 Houston Rockets, 2006 Toronto Raptors and 2010 Washington Wizards. Those picks were used on Yao Ming, Andrea Bargnani and John Wall respectively.
