Howdy do, good folks of OPP. It is time to get this Mock Draft experiment rolling and to do that I have to actually give you all the team you'll be drafting for. There's likely to be ~28 teams drafting in the 1st round this year (won't actually know until tomorrow's lottery) so with myself taking a team, there are about 27 open slots to be had by any of you lovely people.
What are the rules for the Community Mock Draft?
If you would like to throw your hat into the mix then please keep these in mind:
- Teams will primarily be assigned based on how active you are on the site and how long you have been around, so it's not a race to sign up first or anything like that. Newer users will still be considered , but I want to make sure regulars of the site get to participate.
- Only sign up if you will be able to write a coherent paragraph explaining your pick(s). Each pick in the first round gets a separate post with a write-up from the GM, so it's important to be able to put something together with limited spelling and grammatical errors.
- Make sure you can stick to the schedule that will be posted in the coming days. You will be replaced if you can't get your pick(s) in on time.
How do I sign up?
I'm glad you asked. Fill out the form below with your username, email (picks will be conducted via email) and top three desired teams. After you do that, leave a comment on this post saying that you signed up. It's vital that you fill out the form and leave a comment so I can verify who signed up. If you don't follow these directions, you will not be considered for a spot. Please only fill out the form once as putting in multiple responses won't better your chances of getting a team. Also, I will be the only one who actually sees the email that you provide so please do not worry about people sending you spam or anything of that nature.
Anything Else?
The mock draft will likely start in a little over a week with a schedule that will have two picks being selected each day; so even if there's a hold-up or two, the mock will be completed before the official NBA Draft on June 25. Sign-ups will be open for a few days, and I will announce the pairings and pick schedule at a later date, so keep an eye out for that.
