(This is my first post as a member so cut me some slack....)

It is my assumption that the Magic want to be a playoff team next season and wont be worried about lottery picks. With that being said here are a few players we should go after to help bolster our lineup.

Taj Gibson

The Bulls are going to need to clear salary cap to sign Butler to a max deal. The odd man out is going to be Taj Gibson, especially after the emergence of Mirotic who can play either the SF of PF position and who is also on a rookie contract. If we could get Gibson at the right price then he would be a great fit in the Magic's lineup. He is an above average defender, can hit a midrange jump shot occasionally, and is a high intensity player. He and Vuc would be deadly together on the boards, and a Gibson-Payton pick and roll would be fun to watch with his underrated athleticism. His contract only lasts two more years at roughly over $8 mil a year, which would give Aaron Gordon two more years to ease into the starting role. I know a lot of you want Aaron Gordon to be a starter immediately but he is at least a year or two away from being Blake Griffin lyte. The only hold up to this deal would be Channing Frye's contract but I think that a team like the Piston's or Cav's would love to add his outside shooting to clear the lane for the Drummonds or LBJ's, so if we could get rid of him while taking limited salary back then I would love to add a player like Gibson to our lineup.

Aaron Brooks or Jameer Nelson

(Back up PG)

Aaron Brooks would bring 3point shooting, and would be a nice scoring punch off the bench. He is the type of player who can score in bunches, but needs to be reeled in on his off nights. Also, Brooks pace of play is similar to Payton's (fast) so we would be able to continue playing our fast paced style of offense even when Payton went to the bench.

As for Jameer, we all know what he brings to the table. I would love him as a back up to Payton for a few years (2-3) bc he knows the NBA game and would be a great voice to have in the locker room. He could mentor Payton while in a limited role and would be able to step in as the started if Payton missed a few games. As a fill-in starter Jameer wouldn't be the absolute drop off in talent that the Magic are used to from back up PG's like Chris Duhon and Ridnour. He would come in and still give the Magic a solid chance to win games.

Draft Pick

This is pretty simple. We are a lottery team and need to draft the Best Player Available. In my opinion:

1) Karl-Anthony Towns

2) Jahlil Okafor

3) D'Angelo Russell / Justise Winslow (it's a toss up here)

4) Emmanuel Muddiay

5) Mario Hezonja
