For the second time in four days, an NBA team has called up a member of the Orlando Magic's NBA D-League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks.
As Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports, the Atlanta Hawks will soon add Austin Daye, a six-year NBA veteran, via a 10-day contract. The BayHawks claimed Daye off the waiver wire in February. In 10 appearances, the former first-round Draft choice averaged 16 points, seven rebounds, and 2.5 assists on 40.7 percent shooting.
Daye's latest NBA shot comes four days after the Phoenix Suns called up Seth Curry, the D-League's second-leading scorer. Curry played for the Magic in the 2014 Orlando Pro Summer League and attended training camp with the team, and Erie traded for his D-League rights prior to the start of the season.
Without waiving a player, the Magic cannot add anyone from the D-League, as their roster is full at 15.
As part of its hybrid affiliation agreement with Erie, Orlando oversees its basketball operations.
