The Orlando Magic will be shorthanded Wednesday when they visit the defending champion San Antonio Spurs: the team announced that it has placed Aaron Gordon, its starting small forward, on the inactive list for Wednesday's game due to "a sore left foot." Gordon underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in that foot earlier in the season.

Deactivating Gordon frees third-year big man Andrew Nicholson to return to the active list.

Gordon, the fourth overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, has started each of Orlando's last five games. In those contests, he's shot 42.9 percent from the floor for 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23.4 minutes per game.

The Magic take on the Spurs at 8:30 PM Eastern.
