Introducing Orlando Magic Live, a new podcast

New, comments

In our test episode, Philip and I talk about the Magic's first week of the season amongst other things.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Just five games into their season, the Orlando Magic have been one of the NBA's more surprising teams. While their 1-4 record may not show it, the team is progressing and finding ways to play tight games against some of the best teams in the league.

With a lot of things to talk about -- Nikola Vucevic's knee injury, the teams progress and Evan Fournier's play to name a few -- Philip Rossman-Reich, the managing editor of Fansided's Orlando Magic Daily, and myself got together for the first episode of "Orlando Magic Live." The show, broadcast via Google Plus hangouts, is something the two of us have had conversations about for some time now, and we finally began moving forward with it.

The goal of the show is to give Magic and basketball fans alike to come and listen to the managing editors of the two top Magic blogs out there talk about the team each week prior to TNT's Thursday night slate, a night the Magic very rarely appear on now.

In this first episode, Phil and I talk about the Magic's first week of the season, along with Vucevic's injury, Fournier's play and who has been the most disappointing player in the early portion of the season for the team. We also answer a pair of questions from viewers, and hope to get more questions asked by our readers moving forward.

If you're unable to watch the show live, or would prefer to listen to an audio only version, Phil will have the audio posted to his podcast page on iTunes. You can find that at Orlando Magic Daily Podcast.
