The Orlando Magic announced Monday they have assigned Devyn Marble to the Erie BayHawks, their NBA D-League affiliate.
Marble, 23, has played just 12 minutes across five appearances in his sophomore season. He'll get more opportunities to develop with the BayHawks, whose roster includes former Magic training-camp invites Keith Appling, Nnanna Egwu, Melvin Ejim, and Jordan Sibert. Tyler Harvey, the Magic's second-round selection in the 2015 NBA Draft, also plays for Erie.
This trip isn't Marble's first to the D-League: he played six games with Erie as a rookie, averaging 13 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 34.1 percent from the floor.
The Denver Nuggets made Marble the 56th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft and sent his Draft rights, along with Evan Fournier, to Orlando for Arron Afflalo. In his senior season at Iowa, he averaged 17 points per game in 30.2 minutes.
Erie returns to action Thursday against the Iowa Energy, the D-League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies. That game, as with all other D-League games, will stream legally and for free on YouTube.
