Three things to look for
1. Magic stretching out starters
After giving his starters more more time on Wednesday night, expect Scott Skiles to once again play his starters, and key role players, close to the minutes they'll see during the regular season. While starting point guard Elfrid Payton is out, the likes of Tobias Harris, Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic are fully healthy and expected to play their full slate of minutes.
2. Hezonja building off Wednesday
Coming off his best game of the preseason, it will be interesting to see how rookie Mario Hezonja wraps up his inaugural preseason. The smooth shooting swingman has shown signs of improvement on both ends of the floor throughout the month, and will need to continue his progression, especially on the defensive end, as the season gets ready to tip off on Wednesday night.
3. Avoiding the bad quarter
As has been the case in seemingly all of their preseason games, the Magic had an extremely poor quarter -- this time the second -- on Wednesday night. Coach Skiles was not pleased with how they performed in that quarter, and going against high quality opponents on a nightly basis will not allow the Magic to have consistent success should they throw out a poor quarter in a nightly basis. The Grizzlies will give them a physical team to go against and see if they can put together four straight strong quarters against an NBA team.
