The Orlando Magic open 2015 on Friday by playing the first of two games in as many nights at Amway Center, with the Brooklyn Nets representing their first foe.
Tipoff between Orlando and Brooklyn is set for 7:00 PM. Fox Sports Florida and ESPN 580 AM will offer live coverage in the Orlando market.
Orlando's last time out: The Magic fell hard in their final game of 2014, dropping a 109-86 decision to the visiting Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. Orlando got 16 points from Tobias Harris, but couldn't keep Detroit off the glass, as the Pistons owned a 54-42 rebounding advantage. Reserve guard Jodie Meeks drilled nine treys off the bench, the most any player has hit against the Magic in Orlando history.
Brooklyn's last time out: The Nets recorded a 96-82 win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, their fifth victory in their last six games. Brook Lopez led all scorers with 29 points, while Joe Johnson added 20 with 11 boards.
The last meeting: Brooklyn took care of the Magic in the first meeting between the teams, taking a 104-96 win at home despite Orlando's leading by a deuce at halftime. Bojan Bogdanović scored 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting to surprise he Magic, and Deron Williams added an efficient 17 with seven assists and just two turnovers. Nik Vučević dominated for 27 points and 12 boards in defeat.
