The Orlando Magic are among several teams to express an interest in signing free-agent guard Zoran Dragić, reports RealGM scribe Shams Charania. Dragić, whose older brother Goran stars for the Phoenix Suns, can join the NBA if he reaches a buyout agreement with his current club, Unicaja Malaga, by October 5th.
A member of the Slovenian national team, the 6-foot-5 Dragić tallied 11 points and five boards against the United States in FIBA World Cup play Tuesday.
Orlando has 15 players--the league maximum--under contract for the 2014/15 season, but that number could dip: the contract of reserve big man Dewayne Dedmon has a partial guarantee date of October 28th, when the regular season begins. The Magic could also clear space for Dragić by cutting waiver-wire pickup Willie Green, whose contract is worth the league minimum.
According to Charania, Dragić's other suitors are the Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, and San Antonio Spurs.
