Less than a week before training camp of their 26th season gets underway, the Orlando Magic announced a new marketing campaign, entitled Pure Magic, designed to engage their fans.
"This new campaign builds on the tradition and legacy of our organization and signifies the beginning of a new era of excitement for the Orlando Magic," said Alex Martins, the team's CEO, in a statement.
The centerpiece of the campaign: a structure, developed in conjunction with Fox Sports Florida, which bears the team's nickname, minus the letter I. The MAG_C structure will make various stops throughout central Florida until October 30th, at which point it will reside in the Amway Center Plaza for two years. The structure invites fans to take photos of themselves as the "I," making them part of the Magic.
