The Orlando Magic will sign free-agent point guard Peyton Siva in the days ahead, reports Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports. According to Orlando Sentinel scribe Josh Robbins, the Magic plan to bring Siva to training camp with them in October, and then send him to the Erie BayHawks, their NBA D-League affiliate.
The Detroit Pistons made Siva the 56th overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft. In his rookie season, the undersize guard averaged 2.3 ponts and 1.4 assists in 24 appearances, shooting 31.6 percent from the field. He also logged some time with the D-League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants, averaging 12.9 points and 4.6 assists per game in 10 outings.
In Siva's four seasons at Louisville, he posted per-game averages of 8.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.7 assists on 41.7 percent shooting. He helped lead the Cardinals to a national title in 2013.
