The Orlando Magic on Wednesday announced they've waived veteran guard Ronnie Price.
Price, a 6-foot-2 point guard, signed a two-year deal with the Magic as a free agent in the summer of 2013. Because the second year of that contract was unguaranteed, the Magic managed to save the value of his minimum-salary contract by waiving him..
Price appeared in 31 games for the Magic, including two starts, in the 2013/14 season. The Texas native shot 30.4 percent from the floor for 2.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He drew praise throughout the season for his preparedness and professionalism.
After waiving Price, the Magic's only point guard under contract is Elfrid Payton, a rookie from Louisiana-Lafayette.
