In the wake of waiving both Doron Lamb and Jameer Nelson, the Orlando Magic continued their busy Monday by claiming former Los Angeles Clippers swingman Willie Green, the team announced.

Green, who turns 33 on July 28th, spent the last two seasons with L.A. after stops with the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Hornets, and Atlanta Hawks. The Detroit Mercy product owns career averages of 8.5 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists on 42.8 percent shooting from the floor and 34.6 percent shooting from three-point range. His best campaign came in the 2011/12 season with Atlanta, during which year he averaged 7.6 points per game on 47.1 percent shooting from the floor and 44.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

According to ShamSports' database, Green's minimum-salary contract would have become guaranteed had the Clippers not waived him Sunday, which they did. In claiming him off waivers, Orlando has thus picked up the tab on his contract.
