Orlando Magic big man Kyle O'Quinn had a productive 2013/14 season, but NBA fans might know the second-year pro more for his facial hair than for his play. In February, Grantland columnist Zach Lowe said O'Quinn "might have the league's best facial hair," calling a national audience's attention to O'Quinn's follicular excellence.

But with the Magic's season over and Florida's summer heat setting in, O'Quinn has decided to shave his famous beard, and he's doing so to benefit a good cause. Tuesday afternoon, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida member Jalen White will shave O'Quinn's beard. The event, which O'Quinn invites you to attend, is scheduled for 4:30 PM Eastern at the organization's headquarters at 807 S. Orlando Avenue, Suite R, in Winter Park.

Seventy percent of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida children waiting for "bigs," to use the organization's term, are boys. O'Quinn has decided to use the shaving of his beard as a platform to raise awareness for that need. To call Central Floridians to action, all men who sign up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida from May through August will receive tickets to a future Magic home game, as well as the opportunity to join O'Quinn on Orlando's home floor for a photo with him.

Mentors interested in joining Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida are invited to visit this page on the organization's website.
