The NBA announced Monday the results of the 2014 Rookie of the Year voting, and, as expected, Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams earned the award. The Syracuse product, who led all rookies in per-game scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals, earned 104 of a possible 124 first-place votes for the honor and finished with 569 voting points.

Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo came in second place, earning 16 first-place votes for a total of 364 award points. Grantland scribes Zach Lowe and Bill Simmons; TNT analyst David Aldridge; and ESPN analyst Michael Wilbon ranked among the national media members to name Oladipo first on their ballots.

Utah Jazz point guard Trey Burke (96 points), Brooklyn Nets center Mason Plumlee (58), and New York Knicks swingman Tim Hardaway Jr. (23) rounded out the top five in award voting. Four other players received at least one Rookie of the Year vote.

Oladipo averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists for Orlando, making 44 starts in 80 appearances. He was aiming to become Orlando's third Rookie of the Year winner overall and its first since Mike Miller in the 2000/01 season.
